Shriners Bring Holiday Cheer to Paediatrics

The Moramos Shrine Club of Windsor is stepping up once again this holiday season!

A long-standing partner of the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation - the club has returned with a $5,000 donation for Windsor Regional Hospital's Paediatric Program.

"We're here to help children in need," says Moramos Shrine Club of Windsor President George Minto. "We look forward to doing this every year. It's all about the kids and the youth."

According to Minto, the sale of the Club's popular holiday fruitcakes is the main driver is making donations like the one to the paediatrics possible.

To date, the Club has donated nearly $250,000 to Windsor Regional Hospital - the latest funds will help with Paediatric programming and much needed equipment.

"I can't say enough about the Moramos Shrine Club of Windsor's ongoing support of Windsor Regional Hospital's Paediatric Unit," says Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation Executive Director Cristina Naccarato. "It's contributions like this that allow us to purchase essential equipment wherever the need is greatest."

Founded in 1919, the Moramos Shrine Club of Windsor is one of several local chapters operating in Windsor-Essex. In addition to Windsor Regional Hospital, the clubs provide financial assistance to organizations such as the John McGivney Children's Centre, Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare's Children's Rehabilitation Centre, the Farrow Riverside Miracle Park, the Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Association and the Windsor Learning Centre for Dyslexia Children.
