WRH Physician Receives Organ and Tissue Donation Award

A Windsor Regional Hospital physician is being recognized by Ontario Health (Trillium Gift of Life Network) for his outstanding efforts to integrate organ and tissue donation into quality end-of-life care.
Dr. Tyler Jervis received the Ontario Health (TGLN)’s Provincial Donation Champion Award, given to healthcare professionals who are exceptional advocates for organ and tissue donation.
“Windsor Regional Hospital is proud to announce that Dr. Jervis has been recognized as the 2024 Provincial Donation Champion by the Trillium Gift of Life Network,” says Sharra Hodgins, Director of Cardiology.
“We are honoured to have Dr. Jervis as part of our team, where his passion and leadership continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and families. His commitment reflects Windsor Regional Hospital’s ongoing efforts to maintain high standards for organ and tissue donation within our region.”
Dr. Jervis’ dedication to offering every eligible patient the chance to contribute to saving lives demonstrates exceptional commitment to quality care and to ensuring that no opportunity for donation is missed.
In 2024, there were 1,035 deceased donor transplants in Ontario. Together, Ontario hospitals supported 341 organ donors and 1,975 tissue donors.
