The Enhanced District Stroke Centre of Windsor-Essex is proud to announce the geographical expansion of the boundary to accept patients for endovascular thrombectomy at WRH who live West of Merlin Townline (Tilbury).

Chatham-Kent paramedics assess for stroke and if the patient scores positive on a stroke severity tool used to rapidly identify potential Large Vessel Occlusion (LVO) strokes, the paramedics will call the neurologist for bypass approval to transport the patient to WRH for potential hyperacute stroke treatments.

This bypass allows for faster access to hyperacute treatments for the residents living in Tilbury.
