Windsor Regional Hospital is proud to recognize the exceptional contributions of our Professional Staff at the 2026 Professional Staff Awards, held on June 10, 2026, at the Professional Staff Association Quarterly Meeting.
The evening brought together colleagues to celebrate excellence in clinical care, education, research, and leadership - while also highlighting the remarkable dedication and years of service that continue to shape our organization.
This year’s award recipients exemplify the values that define our medical community:

Educator & Mentor Award – Dr. Abdalla Shamisa, recognized for outstanding commitment to teaching, mentorship, and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Excellence in Research Award – Dr. Padmaja Naidu, honoured for advancing research in clinical obesity and metabolic health.

The Keystone Award – Dr. Roli Agrawal, celebrated as a trusted and collaborative colleague whose expertise has had a meaningful impact across departments.

Lifetime Achievement Award – Dr. Corinna Quan, recognized for a distinguished career and lasting contributions to patient care and organizational excellence.

Newcomer Award – Dr. Jason Metcalf, acknowledged for exceptional leadership, team-focused approach, and commitment to education early in his tenure.

In addition to these awards, the event provided a meaningful opportunity to recognize several Professional Staff members for their dedicated years of service - ranging from 35 to 50 years - each representing an incredible commitment to patient care, our hospital, and the Windsor-Essex community. Together, these recognitions reflect the depth of experience, passion, and excellence across our Professional Staff.
